The name of the town should be written in capital letters. Previously, the town's name would also have been underlined, but this is no longer necessary.

The street number follows the street name, separated by a comma.

The postal code is 5 digits, written to the left of the name of the town or city.

The first 2 digits of the code represent a province, from Alava (01) through Zaragoza (50).

Post Office Box is "Apartado de Correos" in Spanish.

There are more than 150 different types of street names, with a majority of streets (approx. 80%) belonging to the standard type "calle".

Spanish addresses may contain kilometre indications rather than numerical house numbers.
