Overview
Royal Mail has a varied choice of sorted mail services. These services are based on a ‘workshare’ principle. Through workshare Royal Mail can reduce its handling costs of the mail you send. Depending on the amount of work you share with Royal Mail, your mailing cost can be reduced from anywhere between 4% and 34% compared to the standard unsorted mail services. So share the work and cut your costs!

Some details per product
- For sending Large Letters and Packets only
- For Packetsort™ 8 you'll need to sort to 8 selections and send more than 250 Large Letters or Packets per consignment to the UK
- If you send more than 1,000 Large Letters or Packets per consignment to the UK, you can achieve a higher discount with Packetsort™ Plus if you can sort to between 9 and 116 selections.
- Pricing based on average item weight
- Both services are for Letters only
- Lower sorting requirements when compared to Mailsort® 1400
- Apply an OCR-readable font or a barcode to your mail item
- Delivery speed flexibility: 3 options available
- Ideal for sending large volumes of mail to the UK
- Sort to approximately 1,400 UK delivery offices
- Delivery speed flexibility: 3 options available
- Available for sending letter and large letter format advertising only
- Lower price than equivalent Mailsort services
- Advertising mail items must meet a standard Mailsort (70, 120 or 1400)
- Royal Mail’s environmentally-friendly service, which allows you to gain an additional discount on any of the three Mailsort® services by ensuring that your mail item is recyclable and that your address data is clean in order to minimise waste.
- Only applicable to Letters and Large Letters
- Combine advertising mail with a response item to obtain more cost savings
- Delivery speed flexibility: 3 options available
- For the outbound mail service choose one of the unsorted or sorted mail services
- Select from 2 delivery speeds for the inbound response service
- If you can sort to Mailsort® 1400 specifications but send heavier items, these services are a great alternative.
- For items between 750g and 3kg.
- Royal Mail aim for first-time delivery, every time, with these next-week delivery services.
- For newspapers, newsletters, journals and magazines only
- Distribution at least twice per year
- For Presstream® you sort to approximately 1,400 delivery offices
- For Presstream® Walksort® you sort to a postman’s delivery walk
- For high-density mailings

Value-added service
If you have important documents to send, there’s one less thing to worry about with Royal Mail’s Recorded Signed For service. You get proof of posting and Royal Mail also asks for a signature on delivery. For peace of mind, you can check online when your item was delivered.
You can use this service in addition to Packetsort™ 8 and Packetsort™ Plus, as well as the unsorted mail services.

How much does it cost?

Please note:
- All tariffs are quoted in pound sterling, so please contact us if you would like a quotation in your local currency.
- The tariffs are exclusive of transportation costs to the United Kingdom. We would be happy to send you a quote for the entire package.
- For Recorded Signed For, please add 77 pence to the postage for the service you are using. Price is valid from 4 April 2011 for approximately 1 year.
